My first visit to Jasper National park was not glamerous. After a spontaneous 6-hour solo drive, I stayed at the hostel in town for four days.
My visit to Annette Lake however was the most memorable one. I spent hours sitting in front turquoise and emerald water, taking in the beauty and serenity of the moment, enjoying the warm sun and the cold breeze.

I painted this last March after a magnicifant visit to the Rocky Mountains. When I was designing the composition, I started thinking of a winter scenery. But when I started painting I decided I was done with snow for the year and it had to be summer.
I even added a secret trad climbing spot at the bottom of the left mountain!
